Commencing countdown engines on

Just a few more nights of sleep and that’s it! On Saturday, January 7 at 8 p.m., the first episode of the second season of The Tribute – Battle of the Bands will be shown on SBS6 … here is the first official promo!

The Tribute – Battle of the Bands is back! In the second season of the music competition, 11 tribute bands will perform: bands that attempt to recreate their favorite artist’s hits to perfection. Each tribute band competes with only one goal: to perform at a sold-out Ziggo Dome. However, only four names fit on the poster of The Tribute – Live in Concert… Which tribute bands will make their ultimate musical dream come true? The Tribute – Battle of the Bands can be seen on SBS6 from January 7, 2023 at 8 p.m. ET.

The competition kicks off with eleven bands: The Neil Diamond Project (Neil Diamond), U2two (U2), Diva Turner (Tina Turner), Californicated (The Red Hot Chili Peppers), MJ History (Michael Jackson), Earth Wind and Fires (Earth Wind & Fire), Double D (De Dijk), Born to Follow (Bon Jovi), SKUNK Doe Maar Tribute Band (Doe Maar), Bouke and the Elvis Matters Band (Elvis) and St★rman NL – The Dutch David Bowie Tribute (David Bowie). Every tribute band tries to get as close as possible to the original in sound and voice. The performances will again be judged this season by the professional jury, consisting of Cesar Zuiderwijk – drummer of the Golden Earring -, Angela Groothuizen and Spike, guitarist and singer of DI-RECT. The presentation is once again in the hands of Gerard Ekdom.

The four finalists win a special prize: they all get to perform at The Tribute – Live in Concert at the Ziggo Dome on Saturday night, April 22, 2023. The big question is: As the winner of the competition, who gets to be on stage the longest and perform the most songs? Who is the best tribute band?

The Tribute – Battle of the Bands is produced by Talpa Entertainment Productions and made possible in part by Priority by Vodafone and Ziggo, Ziggo Dome and Mojo.

Broadcast: from Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023, weekly at 8 p.m. on SBS6 and KIJK.nl.
